Privacy policy
for the app Roomlines (formerly “Möbelplan”) and the website freeapps-at.web.app · Last updated: October 2026
This is an English translation of the German privacy policy. If the two versions differ, the German version applies. In German-speaking countries the app is called “Raumplan”.
§ 1 Controller
The controller within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is Ali Bondok, Vienna, Austria, email: kontakt@fairapps.at (hereinafter “operator”). Roomlines and this website are a private, non-commercial offer without income. For any privacy matter, a message to this address is enough.
§ 2 Principle: your data stays on your device
(1) Roomlines works without an account and without its own server. The app stores apartments, floor plans, furniture, drafts and settings only in the app’s storage on your device. The operator has no access to it and receives nothing of it.
(2) The app does not send any data about you to the internet. The only connection it makes on its own: at most once a day it loads the list of verified furniture from this website (§ 3 (9)). It contains no analytics or statistics services, no tracking, no advertising and no software components of other providers (so-called SDKs). The advertising identifier of your device (IDFA) is not used.
(3) Data only leaves your device when you trigger it yourself: when you share a plan as an image or PDF (§ 3 (4)), pass on an apartment as a file (§ 3 (6)), share the shopping list as text (§ 3 (7)), open a link to a product (your browser, for example Safari, then loads the shop’s page, § 3 (7)), take over a product from a shop (§ 3 (8)) or send an email (§ 4). In addition, the app’s data ends up in your device’s backups if you have turned on backups (paragraph 4).
(4) Backups. If iCloud Backup or a backup on your computer is turned on, Roomlines’s data is included, as with other apps. This is governed by Apple and your device settings; Apple’s privacy policy applies to iCloud. The operator has no access to your backups.
(5) You do not have to provide any personal details. The app works fully without them.
§ 3 Features of the app
(1) Uploading a floor plan. You choose a photo or screenshot yourself via the iOS photo picker, or a PDF or image file via “Files”. The app only receives what you select and gets no access to the rest of your photo library. For a PDF it uses the first page. The image is reduced in size and stored in the app’s storage on your device. A floor plan may contain personal details, such as an address or a name; these also stay only on your device.
(2) Planning and saving. Everything you create and change in the app is saved continuously in the app’s storage on your device, as are the settings “Snap” and “Show distances”. The app calculates the checks (overlaps, walls, doors) and the distances on your device.
(3) Deleting. If you delete an apartment, you can undo this briefly right afterwards. After that it stays, including its drafts, in an internal trash of the app on your device for 7 days and is deleted for good the next time the app starts after this period. If you delete the app, iOS removes all of its data from your device. Copies in existing backups remain until the respective backup is overwritten or deleted.
(4) Sharing as an image or PDF. The app creates the image or PDF of your plan (including the shopping list, if you have created one) on your device. Via the iOS share menu you pass it to an app of your choice, such as a messenger or Mail, or save it to your photo library with “Save image”. For saving, iOS asks once for permission to add photos. With it the app can only add images, not read them. You can change this permission at any time in the iOS settings for Roomlines. You decide what you share and with whom; the terms and privacy policies of the chosen app and of the recipients apply to their processing. The operator receives nothing.
(5) Detecting the plan automatically. The recognition of room names, areas and rooms in your floor plan runs entirely on your device (text recognition by Apple). Nothing is transmitted.
(6) Sharing an apartment as a file. To plan together, you can pass on an apartment as a file. It contains all details of this apartment: name, note, levels, floor plan images, furniture, drafts and shopping details (prices, shops, links). You give it via the iOS share menu to recipients of your choice, for example via AirDrop, a messenger or email; their terms apply to these channels. Keep in mind that a floor plan can contain personal details such as an address. If someone opens the file in Roomlines, the app adds it as a new apartment on their device. The operator receives nothing.
(7) Shopping and “My furniture”. The app stores status, prices, shops and links for your furniture as well as your own furniture only on your device, in a storage area used only by Roomlines and its share extension (“Share → Roomlines”, paragraph 8). You can pass on the shopping list as text via the iOS share menu to an app of your choice; the same applies as in paragraph 4. If you tap the link of an item, the shop’s page opens in your browser, for example Safari. As with every page request, the shop receives your IP address and technical details of your browser; its privacy policy applies.
(8) “Share → Roomlines”. If you share a product page from Safari with Roomlines, the extension reads the page that is already open on your device (name, shop, price, dimensions, link); no additional request is made. If you only share an address, for example from a shop app, the extension loads exactly this one page directly from the shop’s server, without cookies and without cache. As with every page request, the shop sees your IP address and the time, plus a fixed language setting (“de-AT”, not the language of your device) and the identifier “Moebelplan” with its version and the address of this website. No cookies are sent. The shop’s privacy policy applies. You see the result beforehand, can change it and save it yourself under “My furniture” on your device. The operator receives nothing.
(9) Updating the furniture catalog. When you open the furniture catalog, the app loads the file with the list of verified furniture from freeapps-at.web.app at most once a day so that the catalog stays up to date. It sends no identifiers and no content of yours; technically the web server only sees your IP address, the time, the language set on your device and the identifier “Moebelplan” of the app (server logs, § 6 (2)).
(10) Legal basis. Insofar as these features involve any processing by the operator at all, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (providing the app features you use).
§ 4 Feedback and contact by email
(1) Under “Feedback & ideas” you choose Idea, Bug or Praise and write a message. The app then opens a prepared email to kontakt@fairapps.at (in version 1.1 to fairapps@gmx.at, in version 1.0 of the app, then called “Möbelplan”, to freeapps@gmx.at), either in the iOS mail window or, if no email account is set up there, in your default mail app. The subject contains the type (Idea, Bug or Praise), the body your message and below it the app version, the iOS version and the device type (for example “iPhone”). You see the email before sending, can change or discard it and send it yourself from your own email account. The app itself sends nothing.
(2) With your email the operator receives your sender email address, possibly the name set in your email account, and everything you write or attach yourself. The same applies if you write directly to kontakt@fairapps.at.
(3) The purpose is to read and answer your message and to improve the app. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in answering enquiries and developing the app further). A message is voluntary; the app also works without it.
(4) The mailbox kontakt@fairapps.at is kept with iCloud Mail, a service of Apple (for Europe Apple Distribution International Ltd., Hollyhill Industrial Estate, Hollyhill, Cork, Ireland), the former mailboxes fairapps@gmx.at and freeapps@gmx.at with the email provider GMX; your email is stored there.
(5) Storage period. Emails are deleted as soon as your enquiry has been dealt with, at the latest after 12 months.
§ 5 App Store
(1) You get Roomlines via Apple’s App Store. Apple itself is responsible for downloads, updates, ratings and your Apple Account; Apple’s privacy policy applies.
(2) The operator receives aggregated figures from Apple, for example how often the app was downloaded, but no information about who downloaded it. If you have allowed sharing with app developers in the iOS settings (Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements), Apple may also provide the operator with crash reports and usage statistics. You can turn this off there at any time.
§ 6 This website
(1) The website freeapps-at.web.app is run with Firebase Hosting, a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. The links in the app under “About Roomlines” also open this website in your browser.
(2) When a page is requested, Google processes technically necessary data, in particular your IP address, the time of the request, the page requested and details of your browser, and records them in server logs. The purpose is to deliver the page and keep the service secure. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a working and secure website). The operator does not use this data for statistics and does not create profiles.
(3) The website sets no cookies, uses no analytics or statistics services and no tracking, and does not embed any content, fonts or scripts of other providers.
(4) Google acts as a processor for the operator under Art. 28 GDPR; the Firebase data processing terms apply. A transfer to Google LLC in the United States cannot be ruled out. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; the transfer is covered by the European Commission’s adequacy decision for it, and in addition the standard contractual clauses under Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR apply.
§ 7 No disclosure
The operator does not sell any data and does not pass it on to third parties. Data is only transferred to authorities if there is a legal obligation to do so (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).
§ 8 No automated decision-making
There is no automated decision-making, including profiling, within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR. The app’s issues (for example “furniture overlaps”) only concern your plan and are created on your device.
§ 9 Your rights
(1) You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21). An informal message to kontakt@fairapps.at is enough.
(2) What is stored in the app is only on your device. The operator has no access to it and can therefore neither see nor delete it for you; you manage and delete it yourself (§ 3 (3)).
(3) You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in Austria with the Datenschutzbehörde (Austrian Data Protection Authority), Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna, dsb@dsb.gv.at, www.dsb.gv.at, or with the supervisory authority of your country of residence.
§ 10 Changes to this policy
This policy is updated when the app, the website or the legal situation change, for example when a new feature processes data differently. The current version is always on this page; the app links to it under “About Roomlines”.
